Brews&BitesSlider

Have an affinity for beer, appetizers, live music and a camaraderie to support Bay City’s annual film and music festival? Then gear up, as Hell’s Half Mile Film & Music Festival is putting on the Brews & Bites Fundraiser for the second year in a row.

This year’s event is taking place at Arbeitoer Hall, 1304 S. Wenona Ave., the evening of Friday, May 9. Sponsors thus far confirmed include Arbeitoer Hall, Governor’s Quarters, Meats & Mooore, Meaty’s Roadhouse BBQ, Populace Cafe, Old World Bakery, The Sweet Boutique, Artigiano, Heather’s, the Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe, Choux Catering, Electric Kitsch, and HHM Receptions.

Electric Kitsch owner Jordan Pries will be spinning vinyl throughout, until the main musical act starts performing at 10 p.m. Said act is Detroit’s George Morris & the Gypsy Chorus, a fusion of forward-leaning indie synth pop and ’70s glam rock, known for their stunning and frenetic live performances. Check out their Bandcamp page here: http://georgemorris.bandcamp.com/

For a $25 ticket, you get a pint of beer, assorted bites from local vendors, music and a voucher for a film screening at HHMM 9 this September.

Tickets are available in-person at Populace Cafe, 1003 Washington Ave., and the Governor’s Quarters, 1304 S. Wenona Ave., and online at www.brownpapertickets.com. If buying online, type “HHM” in the website’s search bar.
