We had just a wonderful experience. Bay City is clearly making a big comeback and festival was a blast! The venues were really cool. The State Theatre is a beautiful historic movie palace styled with a Mayan theme. The planetarium, where we screened is also right downtown, and was despite our trepitation of screening in a planetarium, was a great venue as well. Also, the integration of music and bands into the festival adds so much. We all know how important music is to film and it provided excellent networking opportunities between filmmakers and musicians. Most importantly through was the people. The festival staff is amazing and everyone we encountered in Bay City was super friendly and interested in what was going on. Totally recommend attending. It was an easy hour and a half drive from the Detroit area and Bay City has wonderful waterfront parks and historical architecture to enjoy as well.
