In support of their killer new album, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers are coming to Bay City, with Hell’s Half Mile and BeMo’s Bar proud to welcome the alt. country quintet to the stage the night of Friday, Aug. 24! Helping to make this event possible are our wonderful sponsors, for whom we are eternally grateful — Electric Kitsch, Electric Chair Tattoo Bay City, 99 Trees, the Guitar Shop at Herter Music Center, Lightnin’ Licks Vinyl Preservation Society, and Roznowski Signs.
Hailing from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers have two albums to their credit, “Sidelong” and “Years,” the latter released earlier this year on the esteemed Bloodshot Records label. In their narrative songs of hard-drinking and hard-living, they display the high-lonesome vulnerability and yearning of Hank Williams and the rough-and-tumble defiance of Steve Earle, all mixed with the punk fervor of early Replacements records. Their live shows and albums have garnered rave reviews and critical lauding from such publications as Rolling Stone, Paste, The Wall Street Journal, PopMatters, and Noisey/VICE.
With local boys Catfood Sandwich and Drift Lifted opening the show, this is not one to miss. Tickets are on sale now for $5 at www.GoElevent.com, with passes also available at the door.
Doors open at 8 p.m. with music to start at 8:30 p.m. RSVP to the event via its Facebook page here.
